On 24 April 2015 Friday the Coffee giant lost millions in sales because of a 'System refresh' computer problem. Coffee giant suffered a massive outage that shut down the Point-Of-Sale (POS) systems at stores across the U.S. and Canada.
The problem, caused by what they called a “failure during a daily system refresh,” occurred around 4 p.m. PST. The glitch that disabled registers served as a reminder of how important is to test the functionalities of software systems that run increasingly sophisticated operations.
